This Book is Gray by Lindsay Ward

Updated: Jan 1

This is one of our favorite books!

Synopsis:

Gray just wants to be included. But the other colors are always leaving him out. So, he decides to create his own project: an all-gray book. Once upon a time, there lived a wolf, a kitten, and a hippo…

Gray just knows it’s going to be perfect. But as he adds page after page, the Primary and Secondary colors show up…and they aren’t quite so complimentary.

A book within a book, this colorful tale explores the ideas of fitting in, appreciating others, and looking at things from another perspective and also uses personality and wit to introduce basic color concepts.

Love Grey's Review:

For obvious reasons... We picked to read this book because of the name. However, we of course love like our spelling of "Grey" better. Only obvious flaw we found. LOL... Just kidding! We love the name whether it's spelled with an "a" or an "e". Even though we prefer our way better. Anyways, I found the name fitting.

This book touches on a topic this mama is always thinking about... Greyson fitting in with others. With Greyson having autism I always fear she will not be accepted. So, far it has been good. The kids in her class seem to be very accepting. I often try and find books that navigate that some people may be different, but acceptance should be the only standard.

Additionally, I like that this book because it introduces basic color concepts. Greyson enjoyed this so much that she added pink to it when I wasn't looking. Some of the Grey, she colored it pink. She said she wanted Grey to have some pink.

The Final Score:

We give this book Love Gray by Lindsay Ward all 5 of the Grey Stars.

We highly recommend this book it highlights accepting others and introduces colors other colors.
